Small Packaging - Discera's PureSilicon Resonator^TM technology produces a resonator which is magnitudes smaller, more stable, and power effective than a quartz crystal. The significant size advantage (about half the size of a bonding pad!), coupled with the low-cost CMOS manufacturing techniques, allow the unique ability to continue reducing the package size without adding manufacturing cost. Larger, custom-cut quartz crystals are reaching their limits of package size reduction based simply on physical size constraints. Current package sizes include 5.0x3.2mm, 3.2x2.5mm, and 2.5x2.0mm. 

Lowest Power - The significant power savings of the Discera product make it extremely attractive to all hand-held devices and any system design looking to reduce power consumption. At 1uA Standby current, the Discera product rivals any other competitor on the market. 

Excellent Shock and Vibration Resistance - Another advantage of the MEMS resonator is its incredible resistance to shock and vibration over the quartz crystal counterparts. Recent tests have shown the oscillator will survive 30,000g of shock.
