Principal Analog IC Design Engineer

Duties:
Design advanced mixed-signal CMOS integrated circuits that interface to Discera's MEMS resonators. Responsibility includes all phases of product design, from IC definition to architecture, circuit design, validation and product launch.

  • Design MEMS-based oscillators, fractional N phase lock loops, precision data converters and voltage references in high-performance CMOS
  • Guide all aspects of the entire product development cycle
  • Use cutting edge semiconductor processes and tools
  • Work with a team of experienced analog and digital IC and MEMS design engineers
Requirements:
BS/MSEE with 7+ years of analog CMOS design experience, including VCO and PLL design.

MEMS/IC Characterization Test Engineer

Duties:
Evaluate and characterize Clock Synthesizer MEMS based products. Use your experience in product engineering, coupled with advanced diagnostic tools, to transfer products from development to high yield manufacturing.

  • Analyze new MEMS devices and MEMS/IC oscillator products
  • Develop bench test programs and hardware to validate new designs
  • Lead test, characterization and qualification for product release
Requirements:
BS/MSEE with 5+ years of relevant experience: mixed-signal IC characterization, programming and troubleshooting hardware and software, and Matlab or C programming.

Systems Applications Engineer

External Facing:
  • Provide technical support and training for sales reps, distributors, and customers
  • Product specifications
  • Product differentiation
  • Competitive analysis
  • Applications requirements
  • Primary technical interface to customers and partners
  • Support Discera product evaluations
  • Provide specifications and applications support
  • Identify technical advantages to customers
  • Work with lead customers and partners in product integration, design layout, evaluation testing, qualification, and ramp to production
Internal Facing:
  • Create application evaluation boards, systems, as needed
  • Demos of Discera products in end systems
  • Canned evaluation system to enable customers to evaluate performance of Discera products
  • Testing and characterization of samples for customer
  • Understand and communicate needs of customers to the factory
  • Lead application development, and system level discussions internally to meet customer needs
  • Enable/interface between the resonator and oscillator design teams

Senior RF Test Engineer

Duties:
Discera’s RF MEMS resonator device is a replacement for a quartz crystal. We are looking for an exceptional engineer to take ownership of the hardware for test and measurement of Discera’s MEMS resonator and mixed signal IC products. Test development and measurement will include R&D characterization to production test. Some of the specific responsibilities include: taking RF measurements of MEMS devices and mixed signal ICs using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, high frequency jitter oscilloscopes, and phase noise test systems. The position also requires the design of RF test circuits and boards, design of experiment, and writing test plans. Knowledge of the use of automated probing equipment is a definite plus.

Qualifications, Experience:
The qualified candidate will have experience in product development from prototype to manufactured product, use of RF Frequency test equipment, RF, and analog circuit design, and component level trouble shooting. The successful candidate will be required to work with automated testing through Labview. Experience in writing Labview scripts is not required but is a plus. BS in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience is required.

Quality Manager

Duties:
As the Quality Manager for a Semiconductor Fabless MEMS company you will be responsible for supervising, coordinating and directing the operation of the QA department to meet objectives for setting up and following the companies systems. These systems will include Six Sigma, TQM, ISO Quality Management, implementing Doc. Control Planning as well Drives continual improvement processes company-wide. The Candidate must be customer advocate for quality and responsible for strengthening customer relationships through proactive resolution and prevention of issues. Oversees the ISO Quality Management System via the internal audit, corrective action, document control, and improvements and reports to executive management on the effectiveness of the system and needs for management support and/or improvement.

Requirments:
5-10 years experience in Quality Management, ISO experience & Implementation, Hands-On, Open Minded, and Willing to Travel and visit Off-Shore vendors

Eductation:
It is expected that you will be degree educated and have significant management experience in the semiconductor industry.

Test Engineer


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Interface with external and internal customers (Product Engineering, Design, Marketing, Operations) on a global scale.
  • Identify, define, and implement in collaboration with test engineering new tools and equipment for mixed signal test. Provide test engineering support to manufacturing sites globally. Able to work in an environment where quality, cost, and delivery is of utmost importance.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate procedures and check lists for design to test interface and test release.
  • Gather and analyze test data to improve, simplify and optimize test solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between design and test providing support to design on design for test and test strategy during early development and providing support for test engineering during test development and debugging.
  • Identify, define prove in practice and implement new test methodologies and processes for mixed signal testing.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • BSEE or equivalent academic background.
  • Proficient in test methods.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and customer relations skills. Knowledge in tester specification, capability, limitations and debug tools of standard mixed signal production ATEs.
  • Basic knowledge of programming language (for example C/C++) is required.
  • Work experience in design or test is required. Hands-on test floor experience a plus.
  • Work experience in Product Engineering, Wafer Fab, Failure Analysis and/or back-end manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and use Design of Experiments (DOE) tools.
  • Ability to generate quality presentations using Microsoft, Excel and Power Point. Skills with other presentation tools is desirable.
  • Proficiency with automated test handling systems and a variety of temperature test conditions is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Credence ASL1000 and Femto 2000 is highly desirable.

  • This position is responsible for all product engineering activities related to Discera’s MEMS based Clock Oscillator products. These products combine low voltage CMOS asics and MEMS resonators within a single package.

  • Knowledge of analog or mixed signal asic, preferably in oscillator or pll products
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills ( both verbal and written )
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently to drive assignments to completion.
  • Ability to apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and use Design of Experiments (DOE) tools.
  • Experience in yield enhancement and data analyses
  • Experience in reliability testing
  • Experience in Failure Analysis, including wafer probing
  • Experience in bench evaluation, preferably with lab-view experience
